Initial Visit
Welcome to our orthodontic family! When you make the decision to begin treatment with us, it is our mission to make sure you're informed about what's ahead. Here's what you can expect from us on the road to a better, more brilliant smile.
At your first visit to our office, we will begin by discussing your medical/dental health history in order to provide Dr. Blacker with a solid foundation upon which to build your treatment. Next, we will take photos of your face and teeth. This valuable information will help Dr. Blacker to determine the best plan of treatment for you. The doctor will take time to discuss this treatment plan with you in detail in order to make certain that you are comfortable and committed to your new smile. In addition, we will review the cost of treatment with you, arrange a payment plan that fits your budget, and schedule your next appointment.
At your next visit we will take x-rays and impressions of your teeth for plaster study models. These records are helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move while under orthodontic care.
Now you're really on your way to that gorgeous grin! The appointment during which we place the appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) on the teeth usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes so please plan accordingly.
We understand and respect how valuable our patient's time is. In the event that a patient is ready to begin braces at the first visit, we are happy to oblige! We are ready and available to provide you with a full consultation, records and braces placement at the very first visit so don't hesitate to ask!
Following your initial visits, you will fall into a routine of periodic appointments. These visits are scheduled every four to eight weeks will ensure that your teeth are moving as planned and will give us the opportunity to make adjustments as needed. You are now on your way to that beautiful new smile!
Thank you for placing your trust in us. We promise to provide you with the ultimate in care and service. We look forward to helping you achieve the best smile possible from the first visit and throughout treatment.
